RE: Advice on After Market Vacuum
Not sure if you only are interested in a central vac system but we are very happy with the compact 5hp unit we purchased at Sears for $70 or so. Rugged and lots of vacuum power.
RE: Antenna
Different types of antennas are tuned to different frequencies (for TV antennas that was channels 2-69). Whether the transmission is digital or analog does NOT matter to the antenna. It is the frequency, so no need to change the antenna. In my opinion, the "digital antenna" hype is advertising hyperbole.
RE: water heater leaking
Just flushed out our Atwood water heater and the relief valve was dripping afterwards. The step by step process above works perfectly to replace the air gap...no drips now! Thanks.
RE: Huge Storage and other questions...
It is definitely not foolproof (but neither is buying new) but we bought a used fulltimer rig and are very happy with it. The advantage is you can get a used high quality rig for a lot less, even if you have to put some $ in it. There are some Tetons, Travel Supremes and Mountain Aires out there. You might look over www.pplmotorhomes.com to see some different models.
We were able to remodel ours, add a generator, solar panels, HWH hydraulic levelers and a bunch of other stuff for less than a new unit of lower quality would have cost us.
RE: Need hlep in deciding on a sattelite dish
quote: "We went with the in-motion at a rally because it was only $150 more than the stationery. We like that because we are able to record with the DVR's as we drive and then watch the recordings when we are parked."
In my opinion, this is an less than perfect practice. The DVRs are spinning optical hard drives, I believe, and using them while in motion will eventually cause them to fail from the bumps one experiences while driving. If you haven't had a problem, you are either blessed or I am not really understanding the hardware...and that would not be the only thing I don't understand. Anybody have more input on this?
